There are very few jobs out there that are as dangerous as a firefighter's. Nothing says "I'm braver than pretty much everyone else" quite like running into a fire, after all. While on the job, these brave men and women encounter blazing fires, suffocating smoke, and molten metals.
The LAFD knows a thing or two about that. While responding to a fire back in 2010, firefighters came in contact with scraps of titanium. Just as they approached, the metal exploded, almost killing them in the process. Check it out in the video below.video-player-present
Holy crap. I had no idea that titanium could do that. The next time you see a firefighter, make sure you thank them for everything they do.
