Since 1986, Chernobyl has been a radioactive wasteland. The meltdown at the city's nuclear power plant caused radiation to contaminate the city itself, as well as the surrounding area. Though radiation levels have declined over the years, experts still caution against spending time in the region.

And it goes without saying that you definitely shouldn't be eating anything that's been exposed to radiation. I guess no one gave YouTuber Bionerd23 the memo. Her channel is full of videos that show her doing a number of questionable things on the contaminated grounds.

She decided to find out what a Chernobyl apple tasted like. Probably not the best idea.

She even caught some giant catfish from the exclusion zone on film.

She also filmed a series of videos in the area's most dangerous spots.

I'm all for exploring abandoned places, but what she's doing here just seems insane. I know radiation doesn't always cause cancer, but the fact is that it's just not good to expose your body to things like this. Let's just hope that she doesn't experience any complications in the future.
