Apparently, Mountain Lions Scream Like Banshees

Mountain lions may share a surname with their Sub-Saharan cousins, but they absolutely do not share a roar.

A female mountain lion was prowling around for a mate one night in Southern California when she let out a horrifying noise that...well...probably wouldn't be used to introduce MGM movies.


Honestly, if I walked outside and heard that, I'd believe that the gates of Hell had finally opened up around me. I always kind of assumed that lions had the scariest roars of all time, but this banshee-inspired puma shriek takes the cake.
