Residents of Manchester, England, have a mystery on their hands. Every time the wind picks up, a whistling sound can be heard for miles and miles. Loud, annoying, and a little bit scary, the noise is clearly coming from a high-rise apartment called Beetham Tower. But what is it?
A team of investigators was sent to the scene to determine the cause, but what they found wasn't very satisfying. That's especially true for the hundreds of people who are still suffering.
Scaling the 47-floor building, engineers determined that the issue appears to be caused by the building’s glass blade.
The team behind the building's construction has apologized repeatedly for the issue, but no solution has been reached.
Apologies aside, however, people aren't exactly happy.

I don't know how I've avoided hearing it all these years, but the Hilton/Beetham Tower makes a ridiculously scary sound when it's windy.

The building is now somewhat of a celebrity in its own right. It has its own Twitter account!
Ladies and gentlemen! I am baaack! Can you hear me? #beetham #beethamtower

I can't imagine that this howling building is good for realtors who are trying to sell homes and apartments nearby. No one wants to live next to a high-rise that sounds like it's haunted.
