As if taking these famous lyrics and turning them into religious doctrine, some religious sects in India believe that dropping babies from 30-foot roofs brings them good luck. Luckily, the babies are dropped onto a blanket that's being held by several men below, but as this video shows, it often sends the little ones into shock.


Due to demands from human rights groups, the practice has technically been banned in India since 2011. But that doesn't stop hundreds of locals from gathering around to watch the bizarre spectacle, which has been going on for at least 700 years.
