They Were Transporting A Nuclear Weapon When They Were Rear-Ended

It's easy to forget that the United States has a nuclear arsenal capable of eradicating all life on planet Earth several times over. While our missiles are sophisticated, they do sometimes need to be transported from place to place for repairs and maintenance.

The preferred method of doing so is to move the missiles by vehicle. When a nuclear missile rolls through your town, you'll know it, since it'll come along with a huge military convoy. While most transport missions go smoothly, things sometimes go awry, as YouTuber Paul Tedford witnessed.

That could have turned out a lot worse, but it's still pretty horrifying.

In case you missed it, the Federal Marshall in the pickup truck pulled over to tell Tedford that he couldn't film the convoy. While they were arguing, the man continued to film, which is how he captured the moment when the military vehicle hit the truck that was carrying the missile.

At least we now know that it takes a bit more than a gentle tap to detonate a nuclear bomb.
